Few places in Chianti like the Wine Shop of Rocca di Castagnoli know how to match the great wine tradition of Tuscany with a contemporary setting of great efficacy, function and aesthetics.
Designed by architect Ivana Boglietti, the project to renovate this building has been conceived to be able to summarise in a single elegant setting the entire wine journey from the vine to the bottle, a sensorial seductive experience recreated in an environment in which the container-with historic scarp walls in natural stone, the roof with wooden framework and Tuscan tiles – harmonises perfectly with the content – new technologies and recycled materials are brought back to life with a new use.
Entry is by a pivot door in crystal and iron. The counter is in wood with an antiqued iron top. The display stand in antiqued iron recalls the layout of the poles and the rows in the vineyards. The display windows are divided into columns that assemble the wines produced by the group. An impressive stone covering of the wall bay is underlined by a ray of spectacular light, concealed by a tape in antiqued iron. The service area is designed as a suggestive wall clad with barrique slats. They are all elements that conciliate ancient and modern, beauty and function. A route that encloses in a single location only the most prestigious qualities of Chianti.
