The feather in the cap of the catering activity of Gruppo Alimenta is the Osteria al Ponte of Gajole in Chianti, a charming inn with an old style ambience, a short distance from the Sienese settlement of Rocca di Castagnoli, known for its bucolic and exclusive atmosphere.
In a former mill that has undergone renovation, with an external seating capacity for 70 in a delightful and luxurious veranda surrounded by lemon trees, and an internal seating capacity for 35 in two rooms with characteristic elegant furnishings, it is possible to savour the best cuisine of Tuscan tradition, orchestrated with great passion by Antonio Cabizza, the manager assisted by Arjan Celia, a chef who boasts varied and important experiences in the Sienese catering trade.
The menu showcases the best of what traditional Tuscan cuisine has to offer, revisited at times with inspiration. For example: Fett’Unte chiantigiane (Chianti-style oiled slices), Crostini misti (Mixed Croutons), Pici cacio e pepe (Pasta with Cacio cheese and pepper), Ribollita (Vegetable and bread soup), Ravioli al tartufo (Ravioli with truffle), Fiorentina (Steak), Carne di cinghiale alla Chiantigiana (Chianti style boar meat). The desserts are rigorously homemade. The beverage list includes the prestigious labels of Rocca di Castagnoli, Castello di San Sano, Capraia, Poggio Maestrino-Spiaggiole and Poggio Graffetta and a selection of the best labels of the area, with surcharges which to call honest would be an understatement.
The catering activity is closely connected with the local farming products with particular attention to cattle breeding. The genuineness, authenticity and local nature of the products are the values on which the catering activity is based, managed by Alimenta with Osteria Al Ponte.
